"Javelina Homestead" is an Original minimalist, miniature Watercolor Cut Paper Collage featuring a javelina mama with her young one in front of a California barrel cactus. Javelina babies are often called “reds” because of the reddish color of their hair!

The collage measures 1½" x 2" and is mounted on a 5"x5" piece of deckled-edge 100% cotton watercolor paper.  The art is made of five cut paper pieces which are adhered to the square of watercolor paper with acid-free glue.

Javelinas look like medium-sized wild boars, standing around 2 feet tall and weighing between 35 and 55 pounds. They are 3 to 4 feet long. They are also known as collared peccaries, as their shoulders have a lighter-colored band that looks like a collar. Javelinas have coarse coats in shades of salt and pepper. Javelinas live and travel together in groups called called squadrons. I think that's one of the coolest animal group names!

You can mount a Tiny Treasure in a floating frame or a shadowbox, or leave it as it is. If you use a standard frame, I suggest getting a thick mat or a spacer to keep the glass off the watercolor, as that will affect the paint over time. It is best to keep watercolor art out of direct or reflected sunlight.

The colors of this art may vary slightly from your monitor's screen.

For shipping, my goal is to reuse packaging material as it becomes available, although the art itself will always be wrapped in acid-free tissue paper before being placed in the package.
